The two share a heartfelt moment talking about their children before Myung-Sook requests he kills her if she turns into a monster. In Episode 5, Du-Sik prepares to kill Myung-Sook, but remembers a conversation he had with her, in which she explained her daughter's death: she had taken her outside in the spring to see the flowers and had looked away for one second before the stroller had rolled away from her. Off-screen, she shuts herself in the bathroom to complete her transformation. Later in the day, while she is preparing food, her transformation begins to take over her. While listening to the military's announcement on TV, she gets worried when the topic of the "golden hour", a period of time in her transformation where she is vulnerable to damage and death, comes up. In Episode 4, she is helping Du-Sik care for the children. Myung-Sook goes to room 1408, where she meets Han Du-Sik and cleans herself up. Once Ji-Su realizes she has regained control of her human form and won't harm anyone, she tells her the children are safe. After Jae-Heon leads the monster away, Ji-Su checks on Myung-Sook to see if she's alright, but she asks about the children instead of answering her. She unexpectedly transforms into a monster and attempts to restrain the Protein Monster but is slammed into the ceiling. The Protein Monster begins beating her into the ground, distracting him long enough for the children to run to the protection of Cha Hyun-Su, Jung Jae-Heon, and Yoon Ji-Su. This reminds her of the accident from a year ago, causing her to admit she knew that Da-eun was gone the whole time she was pushing around the stroller. She regains consciousness and hallucinates Da-eun is crawling towards her, alive and well, by her overturned stroller before the Protein Monster deliberately crushes it under his foot. In Episode 3, before Kim Su-Yeong and Kim Yeong-Su are killed by the Protein Monster, Myung-Sook politely asks him not to touch the children before being punched into the wall. Once she is gone, Jung Jae-Heon tells Ji-Su about how Da-eun, Myung-Sook's daughter, was a year old when her stroller rolled away from her mother while they were outside and was hit by a truck. At Ji-Su's insistence, she goes downstairs alone. When Ji-Su realizes that Myung-Sook has been talking to a stroller with no baby in it, she is unnerved and makes excuses so she would not have to ride in the elevator with her. She also apologizes in advance for when she makes noise in the future, but Myung-Sook assures her that she doesn't mind. Ji-Su introduces herself and apologizes for making so much noise in her apartment. In Episode 1, she meets Yoon Ji-Su while heading to the elevator with an empty stroller.
