I would suggest to a woman I know – while home alone – to have a 15 round 9mm magazine – 13 round. They don’t carry six-guns because – NOT ENOUGH BULLETS – SLOW TO RELOAD. Physically fit law enforcement officials carry high capacity magazines, to be limited to 10 round magazines would put their lives in danger, so they say, and they are exempt from “gun control laws” for that reason. Most women I know have much more of a need to keep the threat away, and needing to reload after a few shots probably means the end of being able to defend yourself. I mean, if you REALLY want to be serious about surviving a life threatening situation like a home invasion. Something like a G26 is perfect 10+1 and small enough to carry and at home at night will accept a 15 or 17 or 33 round magazine. Five shot revolvers and small 6 + 1 autos are OUT. MAGAZINE CAPACITY! Law enforcement officials train to put eight rounds into a threat to make sure it is STOPPED! A woman alone could be dealing with multiple threats across the short distance of a room, and it is possible that she might not have the strength to push off a threat that reaches her and is grabbing at her. I have a logical PRIORITY in choosing a handgun for a woman to protect her life with.
